An estimated 80 businesses in Newry, Northern Ireland, are being impacted by flooding from a burst canal. Gary Quinn from the Rivers Agency said that more than 12,000 sandbags have been deployed to the area to keep back floodwater. The Department of Infrastructure has been fielding calls about the flood, while also monitoring changes in river and lough levels. Further flooding is expected. Business owners estimate that damage could cost several hundred thousand pounds to repair.
