10 Million Have Been Disenrolled from Medicaid; Some Could Find Themselves Eligible for Marketplace Subsidies

Over 10 million people have been removed from Medicaid, according to data across all US states and the District of Columbia, up to November 2023. Medicaid disenrollment varies state-by-state, from 65% in Texas to 10% in Illinois. However, many of the disenrolled are reentering Medicaid, enrolling in alternative coverage, or potentially eligible for other plans. There is a special temporary enrollment period for those who lose Medicaid between March 2023 and July 2024.
