1.4m people affected by Texas Tech University HCS breach

A cyberattack at the Texas Tech University Health Sciences Centre (TTUHSC) and El Paso campus has potentially impacted 1.4 million people. Between 17-29 September 2024, responsible group Interlock removed 2.1 million files (2.6 terabytes) of sensitive data. TTUHSC is offering credit monitoring services to possibly affected individuals and has begun reviewing its security protocols. The attack is the latest in a series of cyberattacks targeting healthcare institutions.
