U.K. says Russia was behind NotPetya cyberattack that shut down Nuance, hospitals

The UK government has blamed the Russian military for the Petya cyberattack that affected major companies including FedEx and biopharma giant Merck. The attack, which occurred in June, disrupted organisations across Europe and cost hundreds of millions of pounds. The Petya attack targeted a Ukrainian shipping company but impacted operations in the US for companies such as Nuance and health systems. It highlights that even smaller hospitals are vulnerable to nation-state cyberattacks.
