Labour has warned the UK government that its ageing computer systems are a cyber risk and an “accident waiting to happen”. The Cabinet Office cannot specify how many of the outdated “legacy” systems in the NHS and other departments are at risk. The government also doesn’t know the cost to maintain these systems, which include the Police National Computer and Pension Services Computer System, among others.
