Despite a rise in disciplinary measures for employees’ social media activities, a survey conducted by the Society of Corporate Compliance and Ethics (SCCE) and the Health Care Compliance Association (HCCA) has found that there is still a lack of procedures for enforcing social media policy. Only one-third of respondents reported that their organizations have adopted policies specifically addressing the use of social media sites outside of work. The survey also found that passive systems for monitoring social media policies are relied upon by 48% of respondents.
