Russian hacking group Secret Blizzard has used malware linked to other cybercriminals to install a backdoor within target devices in Ukraine, according to Microsoft’s threat intelligence team. The group, which has a history of targeting government offices, defense departments, and ministries of foreign affairs worldwide, allegedly used the Amadey bot malware to download custom malware onto systems associated with the Ukrainian military.
