SC orders preemptive steps against cyberattacks, warns vs. AI apps use

The Philippine Supreme Court has directed judiciary officials to bolster cybersecurity measures in the wake of further cyberattacks on government offices. The steps include not opening suspicious emails, careful review of sender’s email address, protection of personal information, and using secure passwords. It also recommends using up-to-date operating systems and applying the “3-2-1 backup rule”. It urges officials to avoid visiting high-risk websites and lock their devices when unused. They should report stolen devices and suspicious activities. The judiciary was also warned against using AI requiring submission of several personal photos.
