Rishi Sunak: AI firms cannot ‘mark their own homework’

UK Prime Minister Rishi Sunak says the risks of artificial intelligence (AI) are too critical to be left solely to tech companies and calls for government intervention. This comes ahead of the AI Safety Summit, where the first ever international statement on frontier AI, dubbed the Bletchley Declaration, was announced, calling for global cooperation in managing associated risks. Sunak added that including voices such as tech billionaire Elon Musk can add valuable perspectives in navigating potential AI risks.
