Ransomware hit 67% of healthcare organizations this year—more than half payed up

A survey of 400 healthcare entities revealed that 67% faced ransomware attacks in 2024, up from 60% in 2023. Recovery times have worsened, with only 22% recovering within a week. Ransom demands averaged $4 million, and 53% of victims paid. Attackers also targeted data backups, successfully accessing them 66% of the time.
