Ozempic can lead to muscle mass loss: Study

The FDA-approved type 2 diabetes treatment, Ozempic, which has also found use as a weight loss drug, may have a negative side effect of muscle loss, according to a study published in The Lancet. While the researchers did not advise complete discontinuation of the drug, they recommended strategic use in combination with proper nutrition and exercise to mitigate this side effect.
