The rules aim to improve access and exchange of electronic health information, define guidelines for trustworthy artificial intelligence, and establish reporting requirements for certified healthcare IT. The proposed rule has received positive feedback from industry insiders who believe it will result in a better patient experience. Developers of certified health IT would have until the end of 2024 to adopt new standards and technologies outlined in the rules.
