Compromised Facebook business accounts are running fraudulent ads to trick victims into downloading a malware called NodeStealer. The malware steals browser cookies and passwords, and is designed to take over Facebook accounts. Cybersecurity firm Bitdefender says that the main targets are males aged 18-65 from Europe, Africa, and the Caribbean. The aim is to bypass security measures and change user passwords, locking victims out of their own accounts.
