NHS Grampian accepting patients again after ‘board level critical incident’

Due to extreme pressures from high patient volume, delayed discharges, and staffing issues, NHS Grampian in north-east Scotland remains at a board level critical incident. As both managed hospitals have operated over full capacity since September, elective procedures were postponed and some patients were diverted. Public assistance in prompt patient discharges and use of self-care resources has been requested.
