LogoFAIL bugs in UEFI code allow planting bootkits via images

Security vulnerabilities named LogoFAIL that impact the booting process have been discovered in devices from companies including Intel, Acer, and Lenovo. Researchers at software company Binarly found the branding images used in the booting routine could be exploited to carry out malware attacks. The issues affect a range of devices, although the true extent of the problem is still unknown. The full details will be outlined at the Black Hat Europe conference.
