ThreatFabric researchers discovered an advanced version of the LightSpy iOS malware with 28 plugins designed to disrupt device operations. The malware, which targets iOS devices up to version 13.3, establishes initial system access through WebKit exploitation and gains elevated system privileges through security vulnerabilities. LightSpy uses an HTML-based exploit delivery system, jailbreak technique, and fake push notifications to compromise the device. Most victims were found to be primarily in China and Hong Kong.
