Hackers Deliver Malicious DLL Files With Legitimate EXE Files

Hackers are hijacking DLLs to trick legitimate applications into loading malicious code, allowing unauthorized access and enabling various types of attacks. Malware is increasingly being disguised as software cracks and distributed using DLL hijacking. The malware oftentimes looks like original DLLs, posing a low detection risk. The ASEC report recommends using patch management tools such to help protect against such vulnerabilities.
