Cybersecurity: The enemy is already inside the gate

Healthcare organizations should go beyond simply patching gaps in security and instead develop a robust cybersecurity plan. This should include understanding where patient data is stored, implementing layered security controls, and ensuring the participation of organizational leadership. Partnering with an outside cybersecurity firm may be beneficial for smaller hospitals with limited cybersecurity expertise. Additionally, interoperability and patient engagement should be considered priorities in cybersecurity efforts.
