Business leaders need help in getting off the ransomware merry-go-round

The UK’s National Cyber Security Centre has labelled ransomware attacks as “one of the most acute cyberthreats” in its annual report. Ransomware involves criminals threatening to release sensitive data unless payment is made. It’s described as a “well-developed business model” with low entry barriers, posing a major threat to domestic organisations.
