Bridge the gap: SMB cybersecurity challenges threaten customer trust and business viability

Mastercard Canada data reveals a significant rise in cybercrime since the pandemic’s onset, with a 600% increase, yet only 16% of Canadian small to medium-sized business (SMB) owners state they know how to handle an attack. Hackers often exploit the weaker security of smaller businesses to jeopardize larger ones. Despite the potential negative impact and the increasing customer demand for security, 53% of SMBs cannot afford improved cybersecurity, urging the sector to provide low- or no-cost solutions.
