North Korean group Sapphire Sleet, linked to the state, is estimated to have stolen over $10 million in cryptocurrency through a six-month social engineering campaign, according to Microsoft. The group posed as venture capitalists and recruiters on platforms like LinkedIn, used malicious scripts to download malware onto victims’ systems, and subsequently stole cryptocurrency wallet credentials. Some North Korean IT workers deployed abroad are also reportedly using AI tools like Faceswap for their operations.
