Australia’s Defence Minister Richard Marles has said that the country has seen increased attention to its crucial infrastructure from state actors while intensifying its cybersecurity measures. This comes after the Australian Signals Directorate reported a 23% annual increase in cybercrime, with 94,000 cases in the last year. The government is investing an additional $10bn over ten years to double the size of the Directorate.
