Researchers at Texas A&M University are developing a method to 3D-print precisely dosed medication in child-friendly shapes and flavours to ease medication intake for paediatric patients. The project, focused on two drugs for paediatric AIDS, could also benefit other aspects of medicine, including adult treatments. The researchers hope to utilise machine learning models for testing tablet structures that combine drugs with differing dissolve rates, promising a personalised approach to medication.
